Great Area for Relaxing

Stayed at San Sou Sea less than a year after hurricane Michael. Although there were still signs of damage and continued rebuilding, most everything was open and operational.
This is not an area for partying and touristy activities, which is why I like it so much (go to Panama City Beach for that); it’s quiet and the beach is practically empty.
The house is nice; big & roomy; lots of stairs though. We had an issue with no dining tables on the decks or underneath by the grill, but a message to the company resulted in one picnic table the next day. Some pre-scheduled wifi work caused loss of TV signal, but the company was in touch and it was fixed within a day. Overall really good customer service.
The water here is not blue/green/turquoise due to the Apalachicola River being nearby, which was the biggest disappointment really. It’s not “dirty” or “tea stained” like I’ve seen in other places, but it’s not clear nor a pretty color. The beach is clean and beautiful though, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
We’ve been to Cape San Blas before, and drove over there to check out the damage; stopped at Scallop Cove to have a few craft beers and the locals were so nice! If you’ve thought about this area you should come on down and support the community while they rebuild.
