Truly spectacular house and stay

By: Trip Date: 08/03/2019

Our friends and family were blown away by the location, views, design, and quality of this house. It is easily among the finest properties on Cape San Blas. Cape & Coast were an absolute pleasure to work with and responded quickly to any question or issue. We will be coming back next year!

Our week at Parasol

By: Trip Date: 06/15/2019

We bring our kids and grandkids to the Cape every year. This is our second year to stay at Parasol and it was fabulous! the house is beautiful! We always cook our meals and the kitchen is so well stocked. We use one of the kitchen tables for putting together puzzles and the other long table for eating our meals. We love this end of the cape!!

simply fabulous views and accommodations

By: Trip Date: 07/30/2016

the views of the gulf are amazing, making movement in the kitchen dangerous because it is so easy to become transfixed on the clear blue waters. the layout of the house feels natural and the elevator ensures all can comfortably access the floors. without a doubt, the house is amazing, not to mention the beach is only steps away. we particularly enjoy the isolated feel of the house as the beach was occasionally empty and never were more than two other families in view. vices are minor in comparison to all the house offers- namely a fridge that struggles to consistently produce ice and a stove that, similarly, is inconsistent as a heating source.

Family vacation to Parasol – August 2016

By: Trip Date: 08/13/2016

A beautiful house, perfectly situated 4 houses down from the park, amazing views on all sides. All questions we had were addressed promptly by the rental company (Elevator, ice, gate code, left behind items, etc.). And we really enjoyed the rental equipment voucher. Thank you!!

Great Place but PLEASE replace the beds and mattresses.

By: Trip Date: 08/27/2016

Parasol is a great vacation gulf front home. We stayed when it was brand new. However, there are a few items that need attention before staying again – beds and mattresses. I think the one area a homeowners has GOT to spend their money are the beds. With rental property, you are going to get a lot of people and the wear and tear on beds is tremendous. As much as Parasol offers great views, quite locations, fantastic living spaces, if you wake up the next day having sleep in a beds that wobble, creak and are just uncomfortable, it will spoil all the rest. I hope the owners will do something otherwise I won’t want to stay again.

Manager’s Response: Thank you for letting us know about the beds at Parasol. The owner has gladly agreed to replace them upon your suggestion. So on your next visit, you will definitely see and feel the difference. Unless you stay in a house, it is difficult to find such problems so we appreciate your input.

Coming Back!

By: Trip Date: 10/01/2016

Second time to the Cape. First time was not something I would want to do again. Second time with a different rental company, we booked it again. That should tell you our love for Parasol & Cape & Coast. Minor issues but all were within reason of renting a home. Staff is VERY friendly. Have a hard time reviewing because we love the seclusion but know the review will bring in more visitors.

Manager’s Response: And we love y’all! We can’t wait to have you back next year! You and your families are truly a pleasure to host!

Away from it all!!

By: Trip Date: 10/22/2016

Our visit was Oct/Nov-great weather-off season very low traffic. This house, located a few lots from the undeveloped park. The sand is white; water is crystal clear.
The floor plan is set up nicely for a large group; open kitchen w/counter seating on both ends, with each end opening to a dining area with large tables. 20 people could eat together. Every bedroom has it’s own bath, balcony, and gorgeous view! And a big flat screen TV!
The elevator makes it easy to unload/load luggage, groceries, etc.. The ice-maker and separate fridge on ground-level saved trips upstairs on beach time.
The dishes, pots/pans, utensils, towels, bedding, furniture, etc.. were really nice, much higher quality than other rentals we’ve experienced over the past 19 years.
If this house was on St. George, I’d imagine the rent would be $6Kish/week and we think Cape San Blas is nicer and more private, if you compare the rates, it’s less than half.
The only quirks to Cape San Blas, CSB, cell-service was sporadic. There IS a gas station and two great little markets within 7-10min away-good!; the closest full service grocery store is about 25 min from this house in Port St. Joe. There are awesome restaurants in both Apalachicola (40min away)and Port St. Joe. CSB is a bit limited on dining options and is a wide-open opportunity for someone wanting to open a restaurant. All restaurants within 15-20 min have great food/service. If you want a view, go to Apalach, or pick up fresh catch at Mark’s or Triple Tail, and make it to your liking and eat on your deck, there’s nothing better!
We had such a great experience, we booked the house again for next year.
Booking the same house??? I like to experience different areas/houses, booking the same house goes against my nature to explore new places. Real estate is my career. If I were going to buy FL, this is where I’d buy and build. This area is young in the development stages, if you want low-key and beautiful, you’ve found it.

Vacation rental review

An excellent property and location

Great week!

By: Trip Date: 06/30/2019

We had a great week. The house was great. I left a recap in the house with a few maintenance issues. Nothing major. Only noticeable issue was a very strong fragrance in the sheets and towels. I suggest using a fragrance free detergent. The kitchen could use some additional dish towels, potholders, and hot pads.

Spoke to Heather in the office a few times. She was helpful, pleasant, and professional!

Manager’s Response: We heard you, and are now using fragrant free laundry detergent. Thank you.

Best vacation ever!

By: Trip Date: 04/15/2017

This house was perfect! It is beachfort, secluded, comfortable and beautiful. There is lots of room for everyone to spread out but great gathering places for the family to be together. The kitchen is the best equipped I have ever had in a rental! The bedrooms are beautifully furnished all have en suite bathrooms which makes everyone very comfortable! Out door decks at both the front and back of the house provide panoramic views from the bedrooms including a deck across the back side of the house overlooking the beach. I was able to kayak out to the dolphins as they went by!!!! This is a fantastic property!!!

What a wonderful week!!

By: Trip Date: 05/27/2017

We had a fantastic time! We loved that every bedroom had a bathroom. We couldn’t ask for a better place to have a family vacation!!

Another great week at CSB

By: Trip Date: 06/03/2017

Housecleaning was top notch; good linens/towels; comfortable furniture and beds – very inviting house. Picture doesn’t show, but there are houses on both sides of this one, but it does not feel crowded, as you are at the end of the cape, basically.

Summer 2017 CBS Beach Vacation

By: Trip Date: 06/24/2017

Everything as described in home’s descriptions. It reallly had everything we needed. We especially loved having alll the master suites, the huge family table,& obviously the closeness to the beach. The elevator was such a huge help with our Dad who has Parkinson’s.

simply AMAZING accommodations and views

By: Trip Date: 06/25/2019

the house is wonderful and, without a doubt, its major selling feature are the large and expansive windows allowing you to feel like you are right on the beach. oh, wait, you are actually only steps away from the beach so i guess the windows don’t have to trick you, they are just showing you the honest view! the kitchen is nicely stocked and the layout of the house ensures moments can be be social as well as isolated. the only issues we encountered are, on the big scale, minor. the server seems to have a max number of users allowed. we had eight adults, all with phones and some with computers and/or tablets. at no time could everyone access the wifi. the first floor bedroom is also significantly warmer than the upstairs rooms and the fridge is a little small for how many people the house can accommodate as the ice machine is easily overwhelmed.

Manager’s Response: Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed your stay at Parasol @ Secluded Dunes. We have to agree that the windows frame the magnificent view perfectly. Thank you also for letting us know about the wifi problems, we will have the provider check to see why you experienced this problem. We will also check on why that bedroom seems warmer. I hope you found the second full-sized refrigerator and stand-alone ice maker in the ground floor closet across from the elevator entrance, these provide extra fridge room and ice that it seems you needed. We look forward to hosting your group again in the near future.

Absolutely Perfect!

By: Trip Date: 08/12/2017

One of the best family vacations we have had on Cape San Blas. This house is absolutely beautiful and perfect for our family. Looking forward to future stays here!

Parasol 2017 fall vacation

By: Trip Date: 10/21/2017

Beautiful location, home, and Cape and Coast does a stellar job taking care of their guests.
We had minor car issues, C&C helped find assistance, which is clearly outside the job description–but it meant the world to us that they took the time to care. This rental company goes far above and beyond to make sure you feel at home.
The house is incredible! Beautiful views/secluded area. This was our second year there at Parasol. We’ll be back next year! We LOVE CSB!!

Amazing secluded beach experience!!

By: Trip Date: 11/04/2017

The house was beautiful and gave each couple/person their private space while also having an great place to gather to cook, eat and socialize! What was absolutely amazing was the soft white sand, crystal clear water, sunsets, and staring into the clear night sky looking at the Milky Way with billions of stars!!!

Fabulous house and location

By: Trip Date: 11/18/2017

The view from this house is spectacular and I love that each bedroom has it’s own private bath and there’s a half bath for guests.

Great trip!

By: Trip Date: 03/10/2018

Wow! I can’t even begin to explain how great our stay at Parasol was. Beautiful secluded location, incredible property, wonderful, professional service from Cape & Coast when we had issues (mostly that were all our own fault!) We love to cook, and the professional kitchen was incredibly well-equipped with everything anyone could ever need. The 2 14-cup coffepots were AWESOME for our very caffeine-addicted family! I can’t believe we drank 28+ cups of coffee every single day! The weather was a bit nippy, but no worries, as we really enjoyed family time in the house and relaxing in the hot tub. With a newborn and 4 year old, having a pack n play, kids utensils, and other baby equipment was a real help. Thank you!

Thanks for the memories

By: Trip Date: 03/17/2018

We rented this house for 3 years in a row and have really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately this was our last year. The pool (which was being added during our stay) has increased the rates for next year so that it is no longer in our price range.

Thanks for the memories.

We love this house!

By: Trip Date: 04/14/2018

This was our second year renting Parasol. It is a beautiful beachfront property close to the state park in a very private, low traffic area of the Cape. Roomy, bright and comfortable describes the house. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and utensils! Each bedroom having a bathroom allows for privacy and comfort. We already booked for next year!

2018 Cape San Blas Beach Trip

By: Trip Date: 05/19/2018

Our experience with this property and property management company was excellent.

A Week with the family at the Parasol@Secluded Dunes

By: Trip Date: 04/28/2018

The facilities were roomy and full of windows through which we enjoyed viewing the beautiful beach while indoors. But mostly, we were on the beach watching the dolphins swim by, and enjoying the unusual early warmth of what seemed like a perfect summer day.

Pleasant stay – thanks for the good weather!

By: Trip Date: 06/09/2018

Excellent. Linens provided are quality; furnishings are very nice and holding up well (our second year in this house); new deck furniture great; pool was a surprise! Kitchen well stocked with equipment for cooking meals for a large group – always a plus for us. Cape and Coast very responsive to maintenance requests.

Family vacation on the Cape

By: Trip Date: 06/16/2018

This was our first visit to Parasol @ Secluded Dunes. Wow! What a fabulous place and the location was perfect!!!! Very close to the state park! Our kids and grandkids love coming to the cape and this was the best house! Very family friendly! We will be back next year!

Perfect Family Vacation

By: Trip Date: 06/30/2018

We had a wonderful week at Parasol. The location is idyllic and the house beautiful. We are coming back next year!

anniversary celebration at the beach!

By: Trip Date: 07/21/2018

We hosted our extended family for a weeks vacation at Parasol. The house was a great match for our group of 13. Loved the proximity to a wonderful beach; and the pool was such a nice bonus. The kids began and ended each day in the pool, which was small, but more than adequate for our family. We all loved the kitchen. It was so large and so well equipped. We had a big gang cooking together each night and had plenty of elbow room and counter space. We love the laid back, unspoiled feel of Cape San Blas

Great quiet location and Awesome House

By: Trip Date: 08/18/2018

The rental was very roomy, clean and had everything we needed. The walk to the beach is so close and the house was one of the most comfortable and clean houses that we’ve every stayed in. The fact that it is right next to the state park, makes it even more secluded because there is less traffic on the beach. We will definitely stay here again when we do a family trip.

The 2nd floor double french balcony doors would not lock. We were at the mercy of anyone that wanted to enter when we all left. We also had to keep extra close tabs on the 2 and 4 year old children. If another outside door on that floor was opened, the french doors would swing open. We were told they would be fixed on Monday or Tuesday, but they weren’t fixed while we were there. Other than that the stay was perfect.

Manager’s Response: Thank you for letting us know about your stay at Parasol. The French doors are actually hurricane doors. In order to lock them, you pull the door completely shut until it clicks. Pull the handle up and you will feel the movement of the bar going into the upper and lower frames. Turn the lock on the door and release the handle. Easy, but not a normal door lock.

A fantastic week at the beach!

By: Trip Date: 09/01/2018

Parasol is ideally positioned on Cape San Blas – just steps away from St. Joseph State Park nestled in the Secluded Dunes area. The home is well equipped, comfortable and beautiful.

Perfect house!

By: Trip Date: 09/15/2018

Everything about this house was perfect for 3 adult siblings, our spouses, and our father. The kitchen was very well stocked for this family of cooks and everything was in good repair/working order. The pool and hot tub were really nice after a long day on the beach. We loved the location except for one detail….the road leading to the house from the gated entrance needs attention. Other than that, perfection!

Repeat stay

By: Trip Date: 06/08/2019

Excellent location; nice beach; plenty of room; well stocked kitchen; towel service has improved! nice quality bath towels. Some maintenance issues, but C & C always very responsive.

Two wonderful weeks

By: Trip Date: 04/20/2019

we have been vacationing on the Cape for 35 years. We love Secluded Dunes because of its remoteness and we loved Parasol. BIg, airy, comfortable, well designed kitchen. Beach access easy. The pool is a first for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
