The house was beautiful, well stocked and clean! We love the view and the details the owner had, from the beautiful pictures to having a beautiful pantry to store things away. The hoses to shower our feet off at convenient spots. Comfortable beds and the elevator made this a home we will return to. Having bath towels and a beach towel was wonderful. We struggled with the elevator at first but Cape and Coast responded and helped us right away. We were very happy with our stay! The pictures don’t do this house justice. The view was so beautiful seeing the bay to our left and the Gulf to our right.

Improper safety railings on stairs
On second day there I fell and fractured my humerus and required 5 staples in my head. I ha surgery on my arm after returning home. I still cannot use my arm or hand. Recovery is estimated to be a minimum of 3 months. The railing o the inside stairs is not continuous making it where you have to let go of one to reach for the other. We will be contacting you.

Thanks so much for your comments and feedback. Although we would have much preferred being made aware of such an incident immediately, we do appreciate you sharing this with us now. After a thorough inspection of the stairwells, they are found to be in good condition and meeting both the County’s Short Term Rental Licensing requirements as well as Florida’s Building Code. In addition, this property does offer a residential elevator as a courtesy and convenience for guests with mobility issues or trouble navigating stairs safely without assistance. We wish you well in your recovery.

Tarpon Sound - Stay in June 2022
We stayed at Tarpon Sound for a week in June 2022. The house was beautiful and a perfect size for our mix of grandparents, parents, kids and grandkids. The only issues we found included the kitchen storage - there was none. I'm sure the pantry was one of the owner's closets which were locked, but that did not leave anything but counter space to put our groceries. Otherwise, the kitchen was great. We enjoyed all the appliances and openness to the living area, plus the full size wine fridge (that was awesome!). We also enjoyed the marvelous view of the water. Another issue was the WiFi which went out and took 2 or 3 days to get fixed. This would not have been a huge deal, but my daughter and son-in-law had to do a virtual court case for one of their foster children. We ended up using a lot of our phones hot spot data, but it worked out okay. The tech finally came and it took him over 2.5 hours to fix the issue, whatever it was. The stairs to the beach look intimidating when you first see them, but it really wasn't that bad making the trip. There is an elevator - it's small and very slow, but it got the job done. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms worked out great. There is a lot of space in the house and it's not only laid out well it's decorated beautifully. This is a trip we'd definitely book again.

Beautiful
The property is clean, spacious, and bright. Exactly as advertised with a bonus. Perfect location for swimming and boating. Easy communication with property manager. Close to a few good stores, and completely relaxing. We had a group of five adults and three children and it was no problem to have space to yourself or gather in the large front room. Beds were clean, kitchen well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals and clean up. Overall it was a great week for us. We will be back!

Great Fun, Great Fishing and Great Food
Our stay at Tarpon Sound can be summed up as great fun, great fishing and great food. The house was very accommodating to our party of nine. (five adults and four teenagers). The location on Indian Pass is somewhat secluded as compared to the Cape and directly across from St Vincent Island. The house is very well maintained and everything was in working order. The bunkroom has 6 bunks, which was perfect for our four thirteen year old guests (grandson and his three friends) and located on the second floor separate from the adults all on the third floor. The kitchen is as advertised, all high end appliances and well laid out for a large group. The views are amazing of Apalachicola Bay, St Vincent Island and the Gulf of Mexico. Having the boat launch so close made it very easy to drop our boat in and out of the water allowing us to fish St Vincent Island daily and eat fresh fish several nights during our stay. The home has an elevator, which is centrally located, making it very easy to manage luggage, groceries and special guest. Overall, the house and location did not disappoint. Our family and guest all felt very comfortable and very welcomed. If there was one thing I could suggest, it would be the addition of a private pool for the younger group because of the depth and strong current of the water behind the home. We would stay in this property again. Thanks Rick and Jennifer

Everything was perfect for us.
Quiet and private but close to anything you might want. Our dog did not want to leave and neither did we. Top of the line in every way and sparkling clean. Did I say perfect?

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was great until we left and I called to reserve for the same time next year. We stayed here last year as well.
They must have thought I wanted to make a downpayment to purchase the house ... the rent nearly doubled. Very disappointing.

Exceeded all expectations!
The house layout is wonderful .... PLENTY of room to spread out : ) All accommodations are first rate and everything was impeccably clean. Lots of stairs ... thank goodness for the elevator!! Beautifully located right on the Indian Pass waterway, which is subject to fluctuations depending on tides and winds. This can affect fishing and kayaking. We enjoyed the beach and decks and will definitely be back next year .... same time, same place!

Super Duper!
We have enjoyed many vacation rentals over the years, but this one exceeded all expectations! Very clean, with every conceivable convenience. Wonderful location, gorgeous views, fun beach to walk, lots of room for cars beneath the house and, in our case, a kayak trailer. The house itself is beautiful .... lots of room, wonderful kitchen, great big dining table (we used one end for a puzzle)with lots of chairs, ample seating in the TV viewing area. Lots of stairs so the elevator was VERY much appreciated! Boardwalk right down to the beach .... summation: we have already reserved this house for the same time next year!

Beautiful Home, Quiet Beach
We have stayed in 20+ beach homes over the years and this is by far the nicest we have ever experienced. The home accommodated our family of 7 with ample room to spare. The dining table is so large that we were able to keep board games set up at one end and eat at the other! My husband loves to cook and he was in heaven in that kitchen! There is plenty of room for parking under the house which was nice for rainy days. All that being said, the beach was different than we've ever experienced. There are no waves, which makes it very quiet. There are very few neighbors but some do drive on the beach with a permit. The current is very swift as the water comes in and out of Apalachiacola Bay. The water was not at all clear and full of seaweed and sea grass, so much so that we could not swim, snorkel, or even wade in it. We did enjoy kayaking and paddle boarding across the bay to St. Vincent Island and were able to enjoy the beach on the south side of the island. But I recommend connecting with the Island's FB page because there are many restrictions as to where you can go. There was a controlled burn the day we had planned to go so we had to postpone the excursion. We saw 8-10 dolphins swimming in a pod, coming in and out of the bay almost daily. We purchased a license and caught blue crab from the shore and had a feast. In the town of Port St. Joe there is a nice grocery store, hardware store, several small restaurants (recommend DoDaddy's for fried seafood) and bars, and a great ice-cream stand. But the area is still recovering from hurricane Michael, so options are limited, including gas stations. We will return to Tarpon Sound because the house was so magnificent and the beach was so tranquil, though our children, all in their 20s, would rather be able to enjoy the beach more in a different location.

The home was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the water was not clear and there were boats up and down the sound. This is a wonderful place to take a boat or go fishing-but not a great spot for swimming.

We spent our days relaxing on beach and evenings on the upstairs balcony. The bunk room was absolutely perfect for our 6 kiddos and they loved having their own space. The bugs can be an issue in the evenings but we knew that from other reviews. Definitely bring bug spray!

It was very clean, well stocked & with top of the line appliances , comfortable beds & linens & a great, private beach front location. We loved the fact that we could bring our dog to such a well appointed home & that he was allowed on the beach & in the water. If I would suggest one thing to future guests, bring bug spray!! Not so much on the beach, but on the decks or area where you park your car, the mosquitoes are rampant at all hours of the day. We loved the easy access to the boat ramp, just steps from the home, so bring your boat or jet skis. Truly a beautiful home!
