The house was great. Was exactly what we wanted. Our biggest complaints were the shower heads had no water pressure. We took them off and cleaned them and it helped some. The maintenance guy that came said he’d have to order new ones. There was also zero lights over the pool and the carport area. Again the guy came and said they would have to order new light bulbs. Thankfully my husband brought a light we were able to plug up outside. All in all great memories were made and we had a fabulous week! We’re looking to book again next year. May get a bigger house but plan to book through this company! This was our second year booking through Cape and Coast!

We had a fantastic time at this home. Layout was great and the large deck gave us plenty of room. Our dog was not only welcomed in the home but on the beach as well. Taking a later week allowed us to avoid the crowds. Will definitely go back.

This beach house is absolutely perfect! The location can’t be beat. We were literally steps from the beach. You can see the ocean from just about anywhere in the house. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Oh and the hot tub is basically on the beach. We will definitely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: By the Sea is your typical beach house with the living area between the bedrooms. Comfortable furnishings. The house was clean and as I stated very comfortable. The beach is wide and clean. And dog friendly! It is a beautiful beach. We found beautiful shells and enjoyed taking walks everyday. Great front porch for sitting watching the waves, they also have a covered area and table to eat at if interested. If you are a chef, the pots/pans, utensils aren’t the best. But useable! If you want a special pot/pan, I would bring it, they did have 2 stock pots though which we used for chowder and low country boil. The best surprise about our stay was Cape & Coast property managers. We didn’t have hot water one day and it was fixed ASAP, also we needed grill utensils which they supplied and brought to us in a matter of an hour! I have never experienced such great customer service. They were wonderful. I will not hesitate to rent from them again. Overall our stay was relaxing and enjoyable.

If you want to enjoy a beach without all the crowds and commercialism then this is your place. Wonderful location to allow kids to play on beach while you enjoy sitting on deck.

We loved staying here! This smaller beach home was perfect for our family of 4. We loved the location and even had dolphins three mornings swimming right in front of the house. The listing is exactly as it appears. You won't be disappointed.

The sandy beach is just outside the door, with a nice private boardwalk right to the beach. The rental is well equipped, comfortable furniture, large master bedroom with its own bathroom, two other bedrooms plus another bathroom. The property is very clean, well maintained. We highly recommend By the Sea for a couple or a family.

The only negative is that all the beds could use some new mattresses.

Thank you for taking the time to review By the Sea. After Hurricane Michael in October of last year, all new mattresses were put into the house. So I guess the saying is true, "different strokes for different folks."

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: By The Sea was the perfect house for our family and grand puppies. The open layout concept with all the windows facing the ocean, the two king bedrooms which is hard to find, and the TV’s with Direct TV service were amazing. The grand puppies loved being on the beach all day long with us and it was so refreshing that beach was not crowded. We loved seeing all of the wildlife and natural habitat, however the biggest surprise was that a bear kept visiting our locked trash cans each night. We only had to contact Patti one time to add more locks to the trash cans and she responded immediately. The Indian Pass restaurant which was 3 minutes away was so good that we ate there two times. Peppers in Port St. Joe was also very good. It was super nice that we received the $250 credit for Vayk Gear with our rental price, however we were extremely disappointed. The four beach chairs were broken and worn. We will pay and rent from another company next time. We hope to rent this same beach house next year. Thank you again.

Linens and guest bags filled with soaps and lotions and the view of the beach and ocean just as the pictures had promised. We were delighted with the front porch and spent hours eating, sunning, sleeping in the shady section and water gazing!! Pure beach bliss!! Our favorite baked oyster were right around the bend at the Indian Pass Oyster and Raw Bar! We went to the Brick Wall and watched a game my husband wanted to see but was not available on the regular channel. We can highly recommend the shrimp tacos and Philly Cheese Steak subs! Enjoyed walking around Historic Port St Joe and checking out the shops-so much to choose from. Made a short trip to Mexico Beach and had waffles at Sharon’s Cafe. YUM! Another trip was to Apalachicola -a neat area to explore. Get the Duck Confit Fries at the Owl Cafe Tap Room!! You won’t be sorry! Crab dip is great, too! We had a wonderful week and hope to do it again. The management quickly took care of a couple minor requests and Patty is very easy to communicate with. 55We highly recommend By The Sea for a relaxed get-away that lives up to its promises.

We were afraid there would not be any waves at all but the waves were huge. Dolphins came up every morning right by the waves. Sitting in the hottub looking at the ocean was amazing. The renters next door were loud at times and they was not very peaceful. but we overlooked it and enjoyed the ocean and our time there. The house was clean other then in the master bedroom the Tv and cabinet has dust all over it. It has nto been dusted in a long time. That seemed to be the only thing in the house that had not been dusted or cleaned, not sure why. The blue chair in the bedroom was AMAZING. very comfy and you could sit and look a the ocean in it. You can also lay on the master bed and see and hear the ocean. This was the best place we have ever stayed at. Hated to leave but had to but had to get back home. Will rent again.

The house is exactly as described on the website, but even closer to the water than we expected. The house was clean and well equipped for cooking which we did occasionally. The raw bar is less than a mile away, so we did less cooking than we planned! The evenings in April were pleasantly cool, so we took full advantage of the hot tub on the deck. It was clean, well maintained, and accommodated four adults easily. The pergola on the porch provided ample shade in the morning to enjoy coffee overlooking the beach. The beach was wide and flat, perfect for long walks. The management company was great and responded to our one request immediately and cheerfully. We enjoyed our stay so much that we agreed to book the same week next year!

This was our third year there and we have reserved it for next year. At 3 bedrooms/2 baths, it is one of the smallest houses along our stretch of the beach but is perfect for us. It was remodeled 4 or 5 years ago but the salt air is already taking its toll. Management is great to work with and we just hope to find new deck furniture next year. You’ll find the friendliest people and dogs along the beaches of Gulf County. You can’t go wrong visiting the Cape San Blas area.

The house was very clean, inviting (upon our arrival there was a nice basket of toiletries on top of each of the beds in the rooms) and it had a great beachfront location on a pet-friendly beach. The property manager was very responsive and immediately addressed some minor issues (internet connectivity and fixing the heater in the jacuzzi). I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing beach get away.

We were the only ones on the beach, which we love. The only negative, which had nothing to do with the house, was the yellow flies on the beach. Luckily, we only dealt with them one day. My wife and baby boy booked this place just a few days prior to arriving! It was everything we had hoped it would be and more. The inside was very nice, updated everything! Hot tub included which is right off the boardwalk to beach. Perfect for getting away from the crowds and relaxing.
